A friend swapped a pair of new Redback Chef shoes for a broke in pair of the other Australia steel toe work boots 🥾 that I used as hikers. I am not knocking the other brand they are great work boots. I have two pairs of steel toe and two pairs of metatarsal work that the company supplies. They are great. However he wanted broken in boots for hiking to and from where he rock climbed.

Well it took me about a month of wearing these shoes to and from work to break them in so maybe an hour a day. Never had a blister, feet were never sore. They looked great with my jeans. Yes I kept them looking nice with boot cream one every two weeks. Yes they were polished about once a month. They became my hang around, go to town, shoes. I found that I could wear them all day long with out sore feet. Wore the in sole out long before the out sole showed any wear. Great in spring, summer and fall. The tread however means they are not great in a Canadian winter. They are the reason I bought the slip on redback boots.

My only complaint is the are only available in black. Would love to see them in a tan newbuck leather.
