FIRETRUCK RUNS OVER REDBACK BOOT
I just had to drop you a note to tell you what happened to my Redbacks. The good news is that this happened to my boot and not my toes.
I was wearing the "Redback USBBK, The Easy Escape" model boot while I was on duty as a firefighter. I've owned them for around three months.
After a fire, I was putting my breathing apparatus back into the right rear compartment. The compartment is near the rear duals of the fire engine. The engineer decided to move the fire engine forward just a little bit. The engineer's view of that side of the engine was blocked. The fire engine ran right over over my steel toe boot! At that time, I thought that my foot didn't have a chance. To my amazement, the steel toe had smashed down a little bit but my toes were fine. That was a 32,000 pound fire engine!

I would like to take a few moments and provide you with my experience and feedback in using REDBACK boots for approximately the past 7-8 years. You and I first met at the FDIC West Conference a number of years back, held in Sacramento, CA. I believe you were brand new in representing REDBACK products at that time. We were also a distributor at the show, with the display of a Custom Built Fire Engine for Sedro-Woolley, WA.
During the show, you convinced me that if I tried on a set of your REDBACK boots, I would find that my feet would be extremely pleased, as well as my back, which as you know takes quite a hit at trade shows standing and walking around the concrete floors. Well, I tried a set on at the show, and that was pretty much the end of it. After a few hours my "test walk", you said "if you like them, order a pair. I'll take your size and send them to you". I refused to take off the demo pair and I am still using that same pair today, 7+ years later. In brief, I will outline my use of these boots over the past 7+ years:
As a 25+ year Volunteer Firefighter, I used these boots for virtually all EMS call I've gone on since I've had them.
I've used them for Wildland Firefighting, hiking and trailing fires.
I've used them on MVA's, helicopter crashes, etc. when my PPE was not available.
I've used them for a 2 week mission trip to the Gulf Coast (last year) and wore them every day while working demolishing and cleaning up flood ravaged areas in Mississippi.
I still use them at all Trade Shows I attend (8-10 per year)
I use them for traveling through airports (so easy to take on/off, get through security and so comfortable for those long, high speed runs from terminal to terminal)
I use them for daily wear when just going to the office, etc. as they are the most convenient and comfortable shoes I have.
I use them while vacationing for hiking, camping, etc.
I use them while mowing my lawn (2-3 hours of walking behind the mower) and all yard work.
Loan them to my 17 year old son for hiking, etc. He loves them! Now I'm going to have to buy him a pair too!
The list goes on and on. I wear them virtually everyday, everywhere. I've had them soaked, burned, baked, cut, cracked, painted on, oil and gassed on, etc. and cannot wear them out, period! Virtually every set of shoes or boots I've had in the past wear out on the soles very quickly, always on an "angle". I am a fairly large man, at 6'1"+, weighing 270 lbs. at my lightest. These soles do not wear out! They look as good today (well, almost) as the day I bought them.
OK, so even though, despite my best efforts, I can't wear these out, they are starting to look a little "shabby" for work usage. I have "put the polish" on them a number of times and even had them professionally polished during travel, but they are getting tired on the top! Time I'm afraid for some new hoofs, even though these will remain in "frontline service" for all my recreational usage.
I am hoping that upon receipt of new boots/shoes from REDBACK today, I can write the same true-blue testimonial in another 7+ years. I kid you not, these have to be, without a doubt, the most durable shoes ever made.

I spent seven years in the shoe business and feel I know shoes pretty well; yours are the best I've ever worn.
I have flat feet and had been dealing with pain in my right foot for months. My Doctor recommended my to see a foot doctor and I never have the time. One of my clients sent me a pair of your boots for a twenty-three day shoot I was about to do in Washington D.C. on February 8th of this year.
I had never heard of your boots, I'm not a firefighter, just a producer. I wore those boots twenty-four hours a day for the entire shoot and had no pain what-so-ever. When I came home I couldn't take them off, way too comfortable.

small problem with my first pair of boots within the first two weeks I had
them. I called the office down in Escondido and explained what had
happened. Without any questions they sent me a new pair. The boots are
fabulous and the best that I have ever owned. I have been in the fire
service for 8 years now. I don't think that I will own anything else. I
also plan to buy them for leisure.I have talked to other firefighters that
I know that have the same boots and they love them just as much as I do.

I am writing this letter to let those of you considering the purchase of a new work boot/shoe know how satisfied that I am with my Redback Easy Escape boots. At first I was hesitant to purchase the unconventional looking boot for patrol, but I am very satisfied with the wear and performance. I have been wearing the boots for about a year and they still look new. The sole is hardly worn. The thing I like most about the boot is how convenient it is to put on and take off. But more important than the convenience is the comfort, both in fit and after standing or walking for long stretches of time. I am a patrol lieutenant with the San Francisco Police Department and perform many functions. My boots have served me quite well whether it be attending community meetings, administrative meetings, or in patrol functions. I know that if my boots ever wear out I will purchase a new pair of the exact same model.

I've been wearing my Blue Tongue - Fire Boots for over 3 months now and I have to say these are BY FAR the most comfortable NFPA boots I've ever worn. The inside is very comfortable and the toe box is roomy. The sole on these boots is so much more forgiving than the Vibram soles I'm used to. It's nice to have a sole that flexes with me when I'm walking. I wear these boots as a station boot and work boot. I'm also very impressed with the durable construction. These are built to last. Tough, over sized zipper, Steel eyelets, Toe Guard. I plan on having these boots for a long time.

I am a volunteer EMT/Rescue, in Tijuana Mexico I have a problem on my right heal bone due to a previous fracture, so I have to wear a sure fitting shoe, so I decided to buy a pair of the UFBZBM "Rescue Boot", due to a recommendation from one of your stores and let me tell you, no pain a sure grip on the ground not only on wet, oily & antifreeze pavements also on dirt and gravel, I can wear it a complete shift with no problems to my heal, and my back. I am writing you to inform you that I was very happy with the Redback Patrol Boot. I decided to test the boot 4 days at the AT&T Golf PRO AM at Pebble Beach in Monterey California. I don't know how many miles I walked during the 4 days but I did walk all 3 courses and all 18 holes.
After each day my feet were tired but I didn't have any trouble with the boot. The Anatomic Support System must have worked, since I didn't have any leg or back pain.
A lot of my friends said I was crazy but I wanted to give the boot a good test, and it passed with flying colors.

I just recently joined the fire department and my 3 brothers (also fire fighters) decided to give the best graduation gift I could ask for... Redback Station Boots. Incredibly as I was going on a run 8 months ago I kicked off my boots to get my bunkers on and one of my boots slipped under our 40,000 lb arial. When we arrived back from our run I discovered my mistake. The steel shell was disformed but I slipped them on and my toes still fit under the steel shell!!!! If my foot would have been in there my toes would still have been intact !!! After I took some extrication equipment I bent the shell back into place and am still wearing the same pair, just a little battle scar to show for the event. I had to comment on these great boots, I worked for the Mounted Police in
Sydney back in 1998, there were 5 grooms working there then, and we all went
down to the Red Back Boot Company not far from us. Once we tried them on,
that was it, I was wearing Blunstones at the time, and I never took the
Redbacks off. They're so comfortable and hard wearing, and non-slip. I have

Redback Boots in Antarctica
I'm a research oceanographer, and my Redback slip-on boots accompany me on projects ranging from the equatorial doldrums to the frozen seas of Antarctica. These are the most comfortable shoes I own, which is essential when you're standing and working on a rocking steel deck all day. These boots also keep my feet dry and protected, and the tread keeps it's grip on a wet surface. I finally had to retire my salt-encrusted first pair after 6 years of hard use, and am looking forward to breaking in my new ones. I am a consumer of your footwear for almost eight years and have not bought another pair of work boots since the first time I tried these on (with your insoles as well), they are more comfortable than my tennis shoes and lighter in weight than them as well. I have been in sawdust soaked in diesel and oil on sealed concrete, NOT slipping around like everyone else, cat walks at very steep angles,without slipping or cutting the outsole, in water to my ankles, no leakage, the best footwear I have ever owned. I have arthritis in both knees but dont know it after a fourteen hour shift of maintaining heavy equipment, even on concrete all day,and some nights too. I have had 2 pair of the slip on steel toe boots and realy enjoy wearing them they are great. I used to be a diesel tech that is when I bought my first pair and they lasted 2 years and I am still wearing my 2nd pair going on the better part of 2 years. Guys, i have just bought my 8th pair. I will not wear anything else. I am in the motorcycle industry and i stand on my feet a lot at trade events and when working on the bikes. I also use them when on my property. They are the best for hiking, working and even dress when if and when i keep a pair from getting scraped up. My current pair is held together on the tops wiht duct tape since i have ground all the stiches away while installing exhaust pipes for our bikes. Keep in mind, these boots are at least three years old! I don't wear them occasionally but ALL THE TIME. The soles are now wored through so they don't hold air any more. I would still wear them but my wife is getting pissed and my father says with the tape...i look like a hobo. Just wanted to say thanks for the product. I work, live, walk, build and everything else with these boots and i always by from you. You have a great site and good service. Thanks for distributing.

I am a missionary pilot in Bolivia S. America and have owned a pair of your
Easy Escape boots for three years now. A "Bush Pilot" from Alaska
recommended them to me saying that he was on his fourth pair. He keeps one
nice looking pair for dress, and an older pair for work, rotating them every
couple of years as needed.
I LOVE THEM! I wear these boots almost every day flying and working. They
have been the best pair of boots I've ever had. It is so nice that when I
get mud on them from the jungle airstrips I can just slip them off and stick
them in the belly pod of my Cessna 206. Or when I'm out at our mountain
airstrips in the Andes they are great for hiking to the villages. When I'm
not flying I'm working as a mechanic on our fleet. You know how brutal
cement floors can be after a long day of being on your feet, your boots have
eliminated the pain in the balls of my feet and up in my lower back.
Well, the pair I currently own are getting a little "old" looking and I want
a nice pair again so I'm ordering my next pair. To all you guys out there
who own these boots, just keep good outdoor "Saddle Soap" on your boots and
they will last forever, almost!

I am writing to tell you that about three years ago I purchased a pair of the easy escape UBBK boots and have loved them ever since. I work as a heavy duty diesel bus mechanic, every other pair of boots that I have owned in this line of work have lasted at most one year, your boots after three are filthy but still showing no signs of breaking down in any way. Also I have had back injuries in the past and these boots have greatly reduced the amount of pain I am in at the end of the work day. I just purchased a pair or steel toe easy slips 3 months ago. Incredible comfort and toughly manufactured boot in the chemical engineering business. Too bad you dont make a brown steel toe, then I would keep wearing them in Executive Meetings after being in the power plants. I chose the "Waiter" style of shoe. It took a week to break in the shoes. With each day I could feel the sole of the shoe molding to the bottom of my foot. It was like a custom orthotic had been placed in each shoe. The leather upper softened with each wearing, avoiding the formation of any "pinch" points in the shoe. Even after a 12 hour shift each step was like stepping onto soft pillows, the sole of the shoe acting as a soft cushion for the foot and the knee.
I chose the Waiter style of shoe because of my work environment. All types of fluids can suddenly "appear" on the floor. This includes water, soaps, chemicals, and bodily fluids. With the slip resistant sole, encountering these items was not a problem. Not a hint of slipping was felt even when running or turning at a fast rate of speed. The leather uppers also held up well to the fluids splashed on them during the day.
I highly recommend these lightweight, comfortable shoes to anyone who spends most of their day on their feet. You will find them a good investment for one of your most valuable assets, your feet.

I'm a matco tools owner and reseller of the redback boot. I can truly say these are the most comfortable boot i have ever worn. I have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable to wear since i have flat feet. these are by far the best thing i've found in a long time. My first pair where black lace ups. they lasted roughly 3 1/2 years before the heel wore out and yes i still have them. i now own a slip on pair and am getting ready to buy another pair of lace ups.
I won't sell any product on my truck unless i've tried it first.I can say with confidence that my customers are very happy to wear these boots on there feet. Many have come back for two or three pairs.

Since 1997 I've worked in International Relief and Development. Where disasters have taken me to Pakistani Kashmire region and Iran's Bam and San Salvador after massive earthquakes, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India after the largest disaster in modern times, the South Asian tsunami. Have trekked through Bosnia, Darfur, Northern Uganda and other war-torn regions not to mention many other underdeveloped nations world-wide. I love my boots...they take a beating in the bush and clean-up nice for an important meeting. I am now convincing others in my Unit to get pairs of their own. I just thought I'd drop a line to say that after 4 years of heavy service, (45+ hours a week), not to mention heavy recreational use with my ATV, my Redback Easy Escape boots are still intact. I finally had to replace them, due to the heel area almost wearing through, but I still wear them when I ride my ATV. I still can't beleive they've lasted as long as they have, as every other brand of boot I've owned, including Wolverine, was lucky to get a year out of. I love your boots and will never buy anything else.

WOW! These are arguably the best pair of footwear I have EVER had! I have worn the "other" Aussie boot for many years, but they stopped exporting their women's model to the US. The pair of unisex boots I bought from them recently just doesn't fit as comfortably. However, I wore your boots to work today for the first time, and it was as if they were old, broken-in and comfortable friends. They offer MUCH better fit, support and cushioning than the other brand. As long as they hold up well (and I have no reason to expect otherwise), I will be a Redback customer from now on! It's always a bit nerve-wracking to buy footwear online without a chance to try them on, but this turned out far better than I could have expected! This is my 8th pair of Redbacks! I work in airline maintenance in Singapore. I wear them more than 12hrs a day even if i just go shopping with it. It is a cool pair of boots I must say. I had tested the shoes many time in all weather even in winter(in Korea) even got run over by bus tires. Once I was sent to korea for work, it was winter and it keep my feet warm all day thanks to the boots. One of the staff even wanted to buy/exchange my boots because he tested then and said he never had such a comfortable boot for work before. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy because every time I visit Australia I had to buy a pair or two because I can't get it in my country. Your shoes are phenomenal. I have worked on my feet my entire life and have never had shoes that properly suited my work needs. At our oyster bar our feet are wet all day and for the past few decades we have become accustomed to purchasing new shoes every couple of months. When you told us how long your shoes would last I couldn't help but doubt your claims. Well, three years later your Redbacks are still leak-free and strong.
Being on our feet all day it is crucial to have shoes that provide proper support and protection. Before your shoes we had no idea how our back and feet pains were a direct result of less than satisfactory footwear. With your shoes, my back and feet are relieved of stress that I had previously attributed to a long work day.

I would just like to Say how impressed I am with your boots. I have hade your slip on boot non steel toe for 3 years now. They have been through everything. I was in the mechanic field for 10 years and am now doing tele comunications. The boots are showing some wear but are still in great shape. I tryed just about every other boot out there they did not even come close to your boots in Quality, Workmanship and best of all comfort I can't say enough about how comfortable these boots are. After they are on for a while you don't even know you have them on, they are that comfortable. I bought my redbacks over 6 yrs. ago, after two weeks of wearing them, I bought all my employe's a pair. We've all been wearing them since. Mine are finally to the point of replacement, this is after six yrs. of the worst abuse you can imagine. Antifreeze, Oil, Muratic Acid, Tinning Compound, Soldering Flux, ect. Before these boots came along, I was lucky to get six mounths of wear out of the over priced name brand boots. I wear my Redbacks day in and day out. If I wear anything else my feet hurt and my back aches. The region of the US I live in has very cold winters and very hot summers, and these boots have seen it all.Snow, Ice, Rain, Mud, Gravel, and endless miles of concrete. I'm an ASE Certisfied Automotive technician and have put these boots through hell. I tell everyone I Know to buy them. I will never own anything else.

I have a pair of Redbacks that are about 6 years old and stopped wearing them just because they had been well used and looked pretty bad. I have had foot problems for some time now and had dug up my old Redbacks to do a dirty job at work. In that one week of wearing those old Redbacks my feet stopped hurting !!!!
I had forgotten how those boots felt.
I promptly went online and orderd a new pair.
Last week was the first week wearing my new Redbacks. The first day my feet stopped hurting. It is truly amazing my feet were so bad I could barely walk in the morning.
I wear the Easy escape boots and since I live in Florida I'm usualy wearing shorts so I get some funny looks, but I don't care what people think you'd have to pry them from my cold dead feet before I would let anyone take them from me.
I mostly hear about the firefighting aspects of these boots, but they are also well suited for the Yacht industry. I drive multi million dollar yachts and as a custom you always take your shoes off before entering the salon. I used to wear boat shoes for this.The problem with boat shoes is that they give you no support and no traction on a wet deck. As a result I developed bad foot problems along with slips and twisted ankles.
It is truly amazing how much these boots have helped.

I am a proud Redback wearer of 6 years now. My brother gave me my first pair when I was a security officer at AnMed Health System. My previous boots, famous brand patrol boots(made in China)and bought from a police supply firm fell apart after six months service. The soles literally fell off after just six months! The Redbacks lasted FIVE YEARS. Five years vs. six months for basically the same price! My old redbacks I still wear to work in the garden and around the house. If you are a department supply officer or looking to buy boots for personal use remember this; there is NO BETTER boot than a Redback. 6 months or 60 for the same price. You do the math! Now that I drive a liquid oxygen truck for a living I have ordered the steel toe Redback. I look forward to five more years of comfort, durability, and protection! I bought my pair of easy escapes about 6 months ago. I walk a little fun and tend to wear out the outside part of the heel or somehow break down the structure of the sole with in 6 months. but these boot are by far the best boots i have owned, there is almost no wear on the soles and still as comfortable as first day which by the way there was no break in time with most work boot. Awsome boots never going to buy any other.

I bought my first pair about a year ago they are the greatest boots I've ever
owned. My wife and I were just looking at the wear pattern- hardly worn at all
after 1 year of every day use between driving truck, jumping in and out 8 to 10
times a day and wearing on my Harley every weekend. They are very comfortable shoes.
Before I couldn't wait to take off my work boots not these boots. My wife has
found me sleeping on the couch with them on and says get those shoes off the

I've had the lace up high top work boots now for probably three years now, and in the past I have been really really hard on the outside edges of the shoes I've worn, usually wearing thru and discarding them at that point. Well the RedBacks are still wearing great, they are almost down thru the tread on the outsides, but the insides aren't that far behind!! Also I usually crack the sole across the ball of my feet, from bending down and kneeling at the lift as I am an Auto Technician. These boots are still intact across the soles. I installed the toe guards and a set of insoles from Redback, as the floor where I work is sanded for a non slip surface. Which leads me to my next comment about the RedBacks, is that even though our floor is sanded, we use a heavy floor machine which has knocked off most of the sand/grit? This makes the floor slippery when wet or oily etc.
Even in a thick layer of transmission fluid on the floor the RedBack boots still grip and hold firm to the floor. Many times I have walked thru oil or water and made the comment to myself that with all the other shoes, I would be slipping all over the floor trying to catch myself. The soles are really incredible, and wear great. I am sure that my next pair of boots is going to be RedBack, probably this fall looking at my boots. Thanks for a great product!!!

Never before in memory have I been so pleased with a boot or any other
product than I am with your boots. From the moment I put them on, some
five years ago, 'til now, I seldom wear any other article on my feet.
Months ago, in the fear that one day I might actually wear out these
wonderful friends of mine, and be compelled by both passion and reason to

Yours have just gotten better, if that is possible. No part of the boot
has surrendered to the elements. They've been in rain, water, snow,
desert sand, mud, countless times, on four continents. On a daily basis, I
walk a minimum of ten miles. I even work out in them in a boxing gym.
They have become kind of a part of who I am. Thank you. If you ever need
an endorsement in writing, beyond that verbally given to the hundreds
of people who have already heard me rave about them, please don't
hesitate to ask. Given more space, I will be more eloquent.
Again, three cheers on you! Keep up the good work! By the way, out of
curiosity, how much would you charge for a pair of your pull-on work
boots sent to Seattle? I am fifty-one years old. May there never be a time

Hi there!
Glad I found you online. I was about to get a hold of the family back
in Aus to send over a new pair of steeltoes. My pair is going on 4
years old, a little rough around the toe where the heel meets the
leather. The rest of the shoe is in perfect condition, barely a dent in
the tread. I wear these every single day, without fail. I work for
Fedex, so I get a good couple miles on them each day, and they never
fail to get comments. Great for gold panning (Sacramento way), getting
wet, running, etc. Standard issue for any red-blooded Aussie male.
I had a regular pair prior to these, without the steel toe. They didn't
last near as long ... only 3 years. :) The steeltoe promotes the life
of them, no doubt.
It's nice to have a piece of home on me at all times. I'll be in touch
to get a new pair (size Aus-11's black steeltoe).

Thank you for making the best pair of Boots I've ever owned. They are nearly 3 years old which is at least 3 times older than any Rossi's or Blundstones I have owned. They are still as comfortable today as the first time I put them on, they have been covered in Mud,Concrete and Plaster and they are still good I bought another set about 12 months ago because they are hard to find where I live but I think they will sit in the cupboard for a while yet as I reckon I'll get a bit more wear out of these ones. Think I might even go and put a bit of polish on them now before I go to work.

I am an auto technician and almost 3 years ago I purchased a pair of "The Easy Escape" Crazyhorse boots and have worn them 5-6 days a week for 10hrs a day. I just purchased my second pair of slip on outback boots they are the most
comfortable boots I have ever worn for work... EVER... thats 24 years of
hard core worldwide remote job locations. The first pair I purchased where
a bit big 9.5 aus but turned out ok when I put a second insole and wore
thick socks (I was in Kazakhstan in the winter bloody cold!) my next size
was 8.5 and are great they are just now breaking in. Other than looking a
bit strange as I wear shorts people think im an Aussie I dont care as long

I was shopping for some work pants when a pair of your RedBack boots caught my eye. I was in need of a new pair of work boots so I decided to try on a pair of your black Easy Escape slip-on boots with safety toes. I'm always skeptical when trying on work shoes. I am writing to thank you for your Redback boots. I am an Australian Winemaker working in the Margaret River wine region in Western Australia and I only discovered Redback boots earlier this year. I have previously been wearing Blunstone boots but decided to try something different this year. I have put the Redback boots through all the tests and they definately come out on top. It is difficult to find a pair of boots that can handle the winery environment. They are constantly covered in grape juice, wine, water or berries and they must be able to provide comfort for the 13 hour days during the two month harvest period.
I enjoy wearing my Redback boots so much that I can't take them off and I am often caught wearing them out casually after the work day is over. I should possibly purchase another pair so I can have my work boots and my casual boots! I recently spent some time in Mt Hotham in the Victorian Alps and my Redback boots kept my feet incredibly warm and dry. They were also very grippy on the icy roads.
Thank you very much for producing such a high quality work boot with the comfort of an everyday boot.
